just wanted to send a little green luck your way.
i made this collage of things that i love... someday i want a green couch just like the one in the bottom row. cute.
happy birthday to my sister-in-law shauna! hope you have a fabulous day!
oh ... we have some BREAKING NEWS!
literally.
grey baby as 3 teeth growing in all at once! never thought this day would come, but at the ripe old age of 11 1/2 months, he's finally doing his thing. the best part about it is that he loves feeling them so he sticks his tongue in and out really fast like a lizard. just adorable! moms just eat it up. i love him.
so i have a question. grey seems to be getting over the bottle really fast here. do i need to phase out of it, or can i just switch over to milk? maybe i should consult the doc, but i figured there are enough experienced moms out there who can help me out. thanks!

ok i am glad you just asked that question about the bottle. apparently you are supposed to have your baby "off the bottle" at age one if you are a "good mama". j/k...no but really you are lucky that he is phasing it out. i am still getting andrew off of it. my friend told me that with her first she didn't do this, but her second she did and it was a dream: if he is kind of over the bottle start putting regular milk (it's ok to start giving him vitamin d now) in a sippy cup and see if you can get him on it. if you only give him milk in the sippy he won't associate milk with a bottle anymore and you will be homefree. good luck!!!!! hope that helps!
Way to go on the teeth, little Grey Baby. As for the milk, as long as they are at a healthy weight--which Grey clearly is--it is my understanding that you can switch to exclusively feeding whole milk at 1 year (you are probably close enough). I don't think the method of delivery matters, but it would be a good time to switch him to a sippy or straw if he isn't loving the bottle anyway. We pretty much only put milk in sippy cups (Lu likes the nuby brand) and then we use straw cups for water and the occasional juice indulgence. Can you even believe that Grey is old enough for all this already?
YAY for Grey and his teeth! I'm excited for you, but be prepared, it's not over yet! :)
Maddux switched to whole milk at 11 months too. It was for sure a LOT easier than I was thinking and has made life a LOT easier and a LOT cheaper :) We switched cold turkey with no prob! We really like the gerber sippies and Maddux drinks great from them! Hope this helps!!!
Start giving Grey sippies if he hasn't been having them yet. Some kids prefer different kinds. Kyle started on the straw with water before we got him to an actual sippy cup. With Kyle I phased the bottle out by getting rid of his day bottles first, then his morning, then his night bottle. It was good that I did it slowly because I was able to find out he needed the lactose free milk. He was pooping all the time with the regular whole milk! I knew he had dairy issues from the formula he used to drink anyway. I would have stopped bottles cold turkey, but giving up the bottle was harder for me than for Kyle. (They are just so easy to give and Kyle would lay there and drink... heaven!) So if Grey doesn't seem interested, take the chance and switch!
Thanks for the birthday wishes!!! You are so sweet...
As for the milk issue...with Jackson, we were in to see the Dr when he was almost 11 months and he wasn't interested in nursing anymore and my Dr said that it was totally fine to have him drink milk. He never was into bottles because I pretty much just nursed him. But he loved the sippy when we introduced it to him because he could hold it better and be more independent. I would say let him try it cold turkey....I am sure he will like the change.
Love you guys!!!
