this last week can be summed up in just a few words...
grateful:
today grey turns 18 months and i've loved him more every single one of the 547 days that he has lived. seriously, i am so grateful for motherhood. i have learned more about my self in these last 18 months than i ever have in my 24 years. i have learned more about sacrifice, patience, faith and love thanks to this little guy. i love that no matter how tired i am from chasing him around every night, i am so excited to see him in the morning. it's a gift.

panicked:
grey woke up from his nap on thursday and i noticed he was wheezing - he was having a hard time breathing and he suddenly had a cough that sounded like a dinosaur attack. luckily i got to the doctor right as they were closing, and cute dr. jones was so patient with G (the second grey lays eyes on any doctor, it's all over. we are talking tantrum of the year! how does he know?). turns out he has croup and had to get a steroid shot and some steroid antibiotics. we had to take turns checking on him to watch his breathing that night and make sure it didn't get any worse. doc said if it got any worse, we needed to rush him to the e.r.
this was the first time that i have panicked when it comes to grey. when the doctor looked me in the eye and said, this is serious business, i wanted to cry (surprised that i didn't). he was really concerned because it had come on so quickly. fortunately a humidifier, some steroids and some t.l.c did the trick and he's feeling much better today.
optimistic:
i happen to be married to a great guy. whenever i'm down or something causes me to stress, jeff knows how to make me forget about it. it's incredible to have someone in your life that completely gets you. he can read my poker face (even though my mom says i wear my emotions on my sleeve) and he can turn that frown upside down. everything happens for a reason, right?
obsessed:
lately i've been obsessed with...

these yoplait berry smoothies. costco sells them in the frozen section and you just add milk. delish!
these pants. my mom in all of her kindness and generosity bought me these toothpick cords from jcrew (in the mocha brown). i don't ever want to take them off!

tennis. i know i already posted about how i started tennis lessons. i seriously wake up wanting to play every day. i absolutely love it. maybe one day i will look like her?!? right!
my apple cinnamon air wicks. welcome fall and bring on the holidays. i get excited this time of year.
thankful:
to be able to watch general conference and be a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints
excited:
so excited to head to california tomorrow (too bad it's without jeff). looking forward to the ocean, lounging and eating, 9 photo shoots in 2 1/2 days (eek!) sea world and whatever else we feel like doing. grey is going to love the beach, i just know it!
have a great weekend!

Croup is scary. I have never been so nervous as I was when Scarlett had RSV. I too love those toplat smoothies kits. I hope you have a great time in CA! Good luck with all of your photoshoots.
Five thoughts:
1) yikes, poor grey! I'm glad he's doing better. so weird, i have heard of several children who had croup lately. i thought that was only a problem in the 1800s out on the plains.
2) jeff is pretty great--but his wife is incredible, so it makes sense.
3) i bought those cords too... best fit ever.
4) make some bacon here this weekend and then come back and relax with us in november (can't wait!)
5) the end.
Croup sucks. Tennis rocks. I miss jeff (and you and grey, but mostly jeff)
